That's dumb, he should've stayed in jail.
ReplyDeleteI am so tired of people always trying to plea insanity. Thats how people cheat the system. The courts need to stop letting people get off so easy. He needs to be held responsible for his action.
ReplyDeleteThat's what people do. They hurt people then act like they are crazy. No that it is not cool. And I agree, he should pay for his crime.
ReplyDeleteHes not mentally ill because he knew what he was doing was wrong.
ReplyDeleteit doesn't matter what he plea if he is guilty he should do the time for it is what I believe.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good controversial story to discuss, Emilio.
ReplyDeleteJust to play devil's advocate, if a person is truly incapable of distinguishing between right and wrong (thus, insane), then do you think the best place for them is the prison system? Even if Holmes receives a "Not Guilty" verdict due to insanity, he could spend the rest of his life in an institution.
Now, I'm unsure whether Holmes is truly insane. The problem with insanity pleas is that it's so hard for psychologists to determine if the person on trial is truly insane or simply acting.
Either way, I too believe that Holmes should be sent away for a LONG time. Whether to a prison or an institution for the mental ill is up to the court to decide.
